Cherryville Elementary
Parents Advisory Committee (PAC)
Cherryville Elementary School's motto is "The School with the Family Atmosphere";
where everyone is welcome and the school and its events are a big part of our small community.

The Cherryville PAC has been established for many years.  One of its major roles is to provide advice to individual parents and groups of parents, assisting them in accessing the school system.  PAC can assist parents in communicating with teachers, school administrators and trustees about individual concerns for their child.  It is also involved in advising on policies such as code of conduct, safety, student programs, and future directions for the school.

In order to raise money the Cherryville PAC holds annual events such as the Xmas Bazaar, held in late November or early December, which has been ongoing for over 20 years.  It is a well attended event featuring arts and crafts made by local people.  As well, PAC provides a concession at our school's Winter Olympic Games and at Summer Sports Day.

Cherryville's PAC is also famous for its cookbooks and has published six cookbooks to date.  It is available at local businesses and at the school, and is a collection of over 400 tried and true local recipes.

The funds raised go towards enhancing students' lives through things the school district does not fund such as swimming lessons, scholarships, student recognition, fine arts presentations, school shirts, musical equipment and playground equipment.

We invite all parents, grandparents and family members to be involved and volunteer time.  Studies show that students whose parents are involved at their child's school do better at school and show pride in their parents helping out.
